After 20 years in the Middle East, moving from commodity trading for a Fortune 100 company based out of their Dubai office focusing on fuel oil, and then moving on to building a food brand, Pili Pili Foods, from scratch into an innovative food brand that redefined its local market expectations around quality and packaging and achieving several firsts in its category before being acquired by a holding company. It was the owners of that holding company with one arm active in the urea and sulphur trade, who was familiar with the potential of particularly urea and sulphur in the Southern African market and suggested we explore it together in the form of a partnership. With a young family and a new opportunity, we made the move to Southern Africa, and IRSA Chem was born 4 years ago.
